#BS_Case: Organized by Mongolian Sports Corporation, Unified National Championship, or UNC is a nation-wide championships tournament covering over 20 different sports and various sports clubs, committees and associations.

#BS_Challenge: To create a logo, brand design, and visual identity that represent UNC, its novelty and its competitive sports philosophy.

#BS_Solution: Our lead designer on this project created a custom new font for the logo. Using the same shape angled in three different directions, the logo illustrates the collective, uniform spirit of competitive athletes. They are separate and different, but equal and united. The width of the font shows strength and groundedness, while its curved angles give a feeling of flexibility and resilience.

The brand identity predominantly uses right triangles in bright red. The right triangle symbolizes the heart of competitive sports - the spirit of an uphill battle, acceleration of speed and equal opportunity for all. It portrays a red flag raised up high, announcing the moment to “ready, set, GO!” The red and black on a background of white play on the checkered pattern of a finish line and what it symbolizes for athletes.

A bright red was consciously chosen for UNC’s visual identity. As a brand that hosts nation-wide competitive sports tournaments, the color red is essential to the brand identity. Red represents courage, vigor, vitality, and war spirit. It is the voice and face of the unifying undercurrent that flows through every single participating athlete and spectator. The color red symbolizes the spirit of courage, strength and vigor that unites UNC’s over 20 different sports and associated clubs, committees and associations. The fiery combative spirit that burns deep within.

Simple, modern and symbolic, UNC’s logo design and brand identity is steeped in elements of sports philosophy and UNC’s ambitious mission. We’re proud to be a part of this novel project. UNC begins on January 8, we hope you enjoy the show.
